Create Comfort and Joy in Your Holiday Wardrobe

‘O tidings of comfort and joy’…

It’s that time of year and, as expressed in the popular Christmas carol, ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman,’ we all want tidings of comfort and joy.

That’s what I would like to bring to you today…tidings of comfort and joy…not only as my holiday wish for you but also as you get dressed each day.

For some time now, comfort has been the #1 requirement that I hear from women when it comes to their wardrobes. I suspect you can relate. If so, as you get ready for the holidays, parties and family get-togethers, you want to wear something that looks great and also feels divine.

I would like to share a few ideas for holiday clothing and accessories. You do not have to settle for that same red sweater you’ve worn for the past three years (unless, of course, it’s a tradition and you love it). You can have something fun and new to gather with friends or ring in the New Year.

Since it is such a busy time of year, let me help!

Holiday Casual Dressing

Not every holiday occasion requires something dressy. In fact, as I talk with my friends and clients, I find that many get-togethers are not fancy at all. But that doesn’t mean you have to settle for jeans and polar fleece. Why not try something a bit more festive!

And, while, for some reason, designers think we want to wear sleeveless when it’s 20 degrees outside, all the tops I am showing you are ¾ or long sleeved. They are out there…we just have to look a bit harder!

Here is a very simple green top just begging to be accessorized! Here are some ideas:

And, you will see many more HERE that will work with this top or others in a variety of styles and price points.

Or, how about this pretty, cozy-looking top:

Accessorize it with the pretty gold star necklace above or keep it simple with a pair of pretty earrings like one of these:

I know many of you are scared of prints. But you don’t have to be. While giant florals and sharp stripes, plaids and color blocking are popular, they are not the only options.

Try one of these:

New Year’s Eve

I have been helping clients dress for New Year’s Eve parties in everything from the casual holiday looks you see above to spectacular gowns. It’s all fun and all festive!

If you are going out that evening or even hosting a party, what will you wear? Here are a few ideas:

How about a beautiful jacket with pants or skirt or even over a dress. I particularly love these because they work so nicely with a curvy body (or add curves for those who want more):

Or how about a fun soft gold fringe top:

Perhaps you want to wear a dress like this beautiful plum colored velvet dress. Velvet always looks and feels yummy and in this color it’s spectacular:

Or add a little sparkle to your velvet:

This beautiful red dress can be dressed up or down:

See more dresses, tops and even jumpsuits HERE including this pretty A-line gold dress that comes in sizes XXS to 4X!

Add this simple wrap:

Another option is to keep your outfit understated and add a nod to the holidays with fun, festive shoes like one of these:

I have included many more options in everything from black to gold, silver and red and high to low heels…even a great pair of black boots to wear with a dress if it’s really chilly outside. You will find them HERE.

If you do end up wearing something sleeveless you then have to figure out what you are going to wear over it in case you get chilly. This is one of my all-time favorites. It’s like a shawl, but it stays in place!

In this special catalogue you will see many more ideas in each of these categories and you will even see a dress that costs thousands as well as the ‘steal’ version of that dress. All HERE.

Take your time and peruse the options. In no time you will have a fabulous outfit that feels both comfy and joyful as you celebrate with family and friends and ring in the New Year!
