Never would anyone guess that Diane is in her mid-fifties. All the more reason that she wanted to feel, as she shared, “full of life, alive, happy and authentic/connected to myself.” I cannot tell you how many women say to me, “I’m 50/60/70/80, I give up. I think it’s too late for me to feel good about how I look.” Not Diane! And her makeover below will serve to inspire everyone.
The second you meet Diane her zest for life radiates through and now that she reflects that in her clothes and personal style she’s unstoppable!
Meet Diane…
Now meet Diane again after a few tweaks and as she shared, “When I tried on that first blouse I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked on me (which was repeated consistently throughout the night).”
Of course add to the clothes the fabulous hairstyle that shows off her cheekbones and her inner beauty shines through.
Diane is a perfect example of what can happen when you have guidelines for what will look good on you. As she says, “Having been to Lord & Taylor prior, I would never have imagined that armed with my ‘tools’ (inner beauty words & color palette) along with your keen eye, knowledge and compassion that it would produce such a fantastic array of clothing options!”
These are Diane’s inner beauty words* (not for the faint of heart!):
- Indomitable Firecracker
- Brightly Spirited
- Powerfully Plucky
- Open-minded
Seeing these words I am sure it will come as no surprise to hear that Diane has a black belt in martial arts…as does Annie who was assisting me during our photo shoot. They had some fun sharing their moves:
When Diane first tried on this dress, here’s what she said, “I can still feel the amazement and glow after putting on that first dress and looking in the mirror and realizing that it was me looking back, which was repeated as I tried on several other outfits.”
She immediately felt ‘brightly spirited’ and ‘powerfully plucky.’ Diane rocks colors that speak to her spirit – no soft, understated colors in sight.
When her life calls for a more professional look with a jacket, her go-to color is red (indomitable firecracker and powerfully plucky!) and the top underneath has a firecracker feel to it with colors bursting forth.
And, I love that Diane is proud of her strong arms—she inspires women everywhere to stop hiding theirs and feel more comfortable in sleeveless.
Diane was very excited to find out that she could wear a slim ankle pant. Of course, we followed all the guidelines I talk about in this article HERE and when she pairs it with a top that feels brightly spirited and with a print reminiscent of firecrackers bursting as well as keeping the top long enough to cover her tummy and backside, she feels plucky!
After experiencing what it feels like to express her inner beauty, Diane cannot imagine going back to squelching or ignoring it.
She has been very kind in the things she has said about me such as, “You are a real treasure and an inspiration for women – not only in how you help them to feel beautiful on the outside, but to help them realize their beauty on the inside as well. I wish every woman could experience what I have so far!” but the truth is that she was truly open (inner beauty word: open-minded) and ready for change and has taken the information and run with it!
She deserves all the credit and the long-lasting benefit of feeling beautiful!
