Sustainability is a popular (and important) trend these days and nowhere is it talked about more than when it comes to clothing. It’s so easy to fall into the trap of thinking of clothing as disposable or, while that might be more extreme than how most of us approach our wardrobe, it’s still easy to fall into the trap of thinking it’s okay if we just wear something a handful of times because it didn’t cost that much.
The problem with this way of thinking is that our purchases contribute heavily to the degradation of our environment as millions of tons of clothing end up in landfills each year – even if we’ve conscientiously donated items (they don’t all get sold to someone to wear!). One of the ways to ease our impact on the environment while still bringing in some new clothing to wear is shopping consignment – whether in a brick-and-mortar store or online (as I’ll share with you).
Recently, I was in need of some very casual, mostly around the house, tops since many of mine had worn out (after years of wearing them).
